Free Credit Card Application Centers: Deal or Scam?
from: Debbie L BoyntonA free credit card center can be seen anywhere. They're set up at local malls, trade centers, and community events. They're manned by salespeople who promote "something for nothing" in order to convince customers to sign up for their credit card. At first glance, these free credit card centers can seem like either a wonderful deal or a major scam. In reality, it is neither. You can take advantage of some excellent credit offers from these centers, but also be aware that you are applying for a credit loan, not free money.
A free credit card application center operates much like a regular credit card center. The salesperson explains the card's features and benefits offers an application. Unlike other credit card issuers, a free credit card application center will be more flexible with its money saving offers. Some centers waive annual fees, fees associated with printing the credit card, or offer lower annual percentage rates for qualified customers.
Just remember that no credit card comes without interest, unless you receive a promotional 0% annual percentage rate for a limited amount of time. When applying for a credit card, remember you are applying for a loan. In order to get the credit card that is right for you with the best promotional offer, always listen carefully to the credit card agent. Do not hesitate to ask questions about the credit account you are interested in opening. If there is more than one credit card issuer, inquire to as many agents as you can. Competition among the credit card issuers will guarantee the best offer for you. After choosing which credit card is best for you, be sure to look over the application, terms and conditions, privacy policy, and security features. Also, have the salesperson itemize the fees that could be charged to your account each month.
The credit card's benefits should outweigh any monthly fees, offer fraud protection, and flexible monthly payments. A free credit card application center can offer you promotional benefits for large purchases or home projects, but remember anything you put on a credit card will come due every month.
